Clark Basement Waterproofing uses Google Analytics to see how people use this website, and uses what you send through the estimate form to contact you about your basement and your estimate. Estimate requests are saved privately on the website and emailed to Clark, and they are kept until Mark deletes them. We don’t sell your information. Questions or deletion requests: call us.

This policy explains what information clarkwaterproofing.com collects, why we collect it and what we do with it. Clark Basement Waterproofing (“Clark,” “we” or “us”) runs this website. If you have a question about anything here, call us.
What does this website collect?
Mainly two kinds of information: what you choose to send us through the estimate form, and visit statistics collected by Google Analytics.
What you send through the estimate form
When you send the form, we receive:
- Your name and phone number (both required).
- Your email address and your city or street address, if you give them.
- The boxes you check under “What are you seeing?”, your message, and how you heard about us.
- The page you sent the form from.
- The website that brought you here, such as a search engine, and any campaign tags in the link you followed, such as a utm_source tag or an ad click ID.
We don’t store your IP address with your request. To block spam, the form keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of it for one hour, only to count how many requests come from the same connection.
What Google Analytics collects while you browse
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how people use this site: which pages they read and how they found us. It is added through Site Kit, Google’s WordPress plugin. Google Analytics collects:
- The pages you view and the page that sent you to each one.
- Visit statistics, such as how many pages you looked at and how long you stayed.
- Your approximate location, such as your city or region. Not your street address.
- Your browser and device type.
- Clicks on our phone number, email link, estimate buttons and review links, and video plays.
- When you send the estimate form: only which of our service cities you named (or “other”), the boxes you checked and how you heard about us. Never your name, phone number, email, address or message.
Google says Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. How Google itself uses this data is explained on its page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Like most websites, the servers that host this site may also keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, for security and troubleshooting.
When you call us
We use what you tell us on the phone to answer your question and set up your estimate.
How do you use it?
- To call or email you back about your basement and set up your estimate.
- To prepare your estimate, and to do the work if you hire us.
- To see which pages help people and which need work.
- To keep spam out of the form.
Where does my estimate request go?
To two places. It is saved as a private “Estimate Request” inside our website, where only Clark and the people who build and maintain the site for us can see it. It is also emailed to Clark’s business email account.
The companies that host our website and our email store it as part of providing those services. The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, so what you type is encrypted on its way to our website.
How long do you keep it?
Estimate requests stay on our website and in our email until Mark deletes them. We don’t have an automatic schedule for deleting them, so they may be kept for a long time. If you want yours deleted sooner, call us and we will delete it.
Google Analytics deletes its detailed, visitor-level data after 2 or 14 months, depending on a setting in our Analytics account. Its summary reports, such as page views per month, aren’t affected by that setting.
Do you sell or share my information?
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t give it to marketers or lead sellers.
Google receives the Analytics data described above. If you hire us, we share your address with the people the job requires: we call MISS DIG 811 before every job so underground utility lines get marked, and we pull the permits the job needs from your city.
What cookies does this site use?
Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser:

Some browsers delete these cookies sooner. Google lists them on its page Cookie usage on websites.
The estimate form also uses your browser’s session storage, which works like a short-lived cookie, to remember the website and campaign tag that brought you here. It is sent to us only if you send the form, and your browser clears it when you close the tab.
We don’t use advertising or retargeting cookies. WordPress sets its own login cookies only for people who sign in to manage the site.
If a page shows a video, YouTube’s player doesn’t load until you press play. It then loads in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and Google’s privacy policy covers it.
How can I opt out?
- Install Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. It is available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site, including the estimate form, still works.
- Skip the form and call us instead.
How do I see, correct or delete what you have?
Call us and give the name and phone number you used. We’ll tell you what we have, fix anything that’s wrong, or delete it.
Is this site meant for children?
No. This site is for homeowners. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
What about other websites you link to?
Links to other sites, such as Google, Facebook, Yelp and YouTube, take you to websites with their own privacy policies. This policy covers only clarkwaterproofing.com.
Will this policy change?
If we change what this site collects or how we use it, we’ll update this page and its date.
